Form-and-Trim-in-Mold Thermoforming Design
The Sunwell MT Series is a form-and-trim-in-mold thermoforming system driven by a fully automatic servo-electric mechanical drive. An integrated tilting movement and automatic stacking system enable precise trimming and efficient downstream handling in a single forming station.


High Precision for Deep-Draw Containers
Designed for demanding deep-draw applications, the MT Series delivers tight trim tolerances and consistent product quality. It is compatible with all common thermoplastic materials, particularly PP, making it ideal for drink cups and deep-draw food containers.


Flexible Line Configuration
The MT Series can operate as a roll-fed standalone machine or be integrated in-line with an extrusion system, providing flexibility to match different production layouts and capacity requirements.


Advanced Servo-Controlled Forming System

  • Adjustable top platen for different mold shut heights and precise cutting depth control
  • Servo-controlled male plugs ensure uniform wall thickness distribution
  • A movable bottom platen, driven by a conjugated cam system, performs forming and final trimming while enabling a 75-degree mold tilt for smooth product transfer to the automation system
  • Variable-speed cam design allows process optimization for different products


High-Efficiency Heating and Sheet Feeding
An insulated heating tunnel equipped with high-quality ceramic heating elements and multi-zone temperature control ensures accurate and stable sheet heating. The servo-driven chain index system provides precise sheet positioning and synchronized control through the machine interface. Chain rail width is motor-adjustable to accommodate different sheet sizes.


Automated Stacking and Scrap Handling Options
Sunwell offers two automated product collection solutions:

  • Waterfall Automatic Stacking System
  • Mandrel Swiveling Pick-and-Place Stacking System

Both systems can be integrated with automatic packaging lines for high-speed production of lightweight thermoformed containers. A scrap bridge conveyor guides skeleton scrap to an in-line granulator or winder, with flexible layout options to minimize floor space and labor requirements.
